There will be heavy hors d’ouvres and a cash bar, floor show by alumni and current students, a multimedia presentation of the studio’s history, and dancing to a live big band.
All alumni and Diamond level dancers are invited to perform at the Gala. Sandra Philpott will be teaching a Latin Tap routine over the course of six Sundays prior to the event and Holly Costa will be teaching a Jazz routine over a Saturday and Sunday session prior to the event. (More details on this page.) Participation in the Latin Tap will be a $50 fee and the Jazz will be a $25 fee, payable at the first rehearsal. The Hazel Boone Dance Team wins "Platinum" at IDC
March 22, 2009 - The Hazel Boone Dance Team won the highest possible award, Platinum, at the International Dance Challenge competition in Brockton on March 22, 2009, for their “Jailhouse Rock” performance.
The Dance Team members study Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop at the studio and five of the team members also studio assistants. The team rehearses in the fall and winter to prepare for dance competitions. They look forward to their next competition at Sharon High on May 3rd. They are now beginning to learn new choreography for performances that they will do for local nursing homes in June.
